🤱 World Breastfeeding Week at The Brewery 🤱
Today, Havering Children’s Centres are celebrating World Breastfeeding Week (1-7 August) with a special event in the space outside Sainsbury’s. Our team is here to support families on their feeding journey and to highlight the wide range of services available across Havering.
We’re sharing information about our borough‑wide parenting offer and giving out free BookStart packs to families who visit the stall.
Our support includes:
Antenatal Breastfeeding & Relationship‑Building Class - co‑delivered with Queen’s Maternity, helping expectant parents feel confident and prepared.
Two weekly Infant Feeding Support groups - with Health Visiting available, whatever your feeding journey looks like.
Preparing for Solids workshops - supporting parents as babies move into their next stage.
Wellbeing Buggy Walk - a relaxed outdoor session where families can talk about feeding with Infant Feeding Coordinator Georgina Plock. This walk is open to everyone - you don’t need to be experiencing feeding challenges. It’s all about the benefits of being outdoors, connecting with others, and strengthening support systems.
LatchOn community support - offering breastfeeding support sessions every Monday and Friday across Havering.
If any local businesses or national chains would like to contribute to our breastfeeding support offer - whether through small, samples, vouchers, or wellbeing items please feel free to pop by the stall today or email georgina.plock@havering.gov.uk.
